Can I be paid for farming nature?
A series of free information seminars for landholders
These seminars will outline how landholders may be able to earn income by providing environmental services on their land.
If you have heard of schemes such as BushTender, EcoTender, Bush Broker, vegetation offsets, and carbon trading and want to know about the obligations and potential returns, then this seminar is the place to start. It will explain in simple terms, some of the emerging market options, how they work, the risks and potential benefits, and whether they can offer you realistic economical return.
The seminar is designed for all landholders, whether a large-scale farming business, or a small rural property. Landholders who have participated in these schemes will relate their experiences with the schemes. Opportunities for further information about the schemes will be provided after the presentations.
The seminars will be held at three venues across the Port Phillip and Westernport region.
