Department of Planning and Community Development [DPCD] notices:
Fifteen projects from 13 local councils have received funding under the 2009-10 Creating Better Places program, announced on 7 December by Minister Madden.
The Department is seeking comment on a proposal to amend the Victoria Planning Provisions relating to dry cleaners. The intent is to reduce issues caused by dry cleaners being broadly defined as a form of industry. Comments on the proposed changes are invited and should be e-mailed to planning.systems@dpcd.vic.gov.au by 5 February 2010.
On 9 December 2009, the Auditor-General tabled his report to Parliament on the Use of Development Contributions by Local Government. The report made a number of findings and recommendations regarding improving management, monitoring and reporting practices in this area.
